Functional description

For the first prototypes I want to split the System into two boards:

  • Charger board
  • BMS board

The charger board should be supplied by a solar cell module with an input voltage range from 30V to 60V. With the charger it should be possible to charge five in series connected LTO cells with an system voltage of 2.6V*5 cells -> 13V. The charge current should be 10A so that the maximum charge power is 130W.

 

Key characteristics:

  • input voltage ragne 24V-60V
  • input source: solar cell
  • five cells of LTO batteries connection (systemvoltage 13V)
  • charge current 10A

Design descisions:

  • use of LT3845 as high current charger (step down converter)
  • use of LTC4000-1 High Voltage High Current Controller for Battery Charging with Maximum Power Point Control
